with Pyar

I began my career in tech at the dawn of big data, when the world was first learning how much could be measured, stored, and optimized. We were intoxicated by the possibility of dashboards, blooming with insights, patterns revealing themselves where there was once junk. It felt like progress—and it was.

By the time I left, AI was just starting to stretch its limbs. The language was different then… machine learning, predictive models, automation—but the trajectory was clear, as I discussed in The Patient Revolution. Systems were learning not just to report on the world, but to anticipate it, to decide, and to act.

And then, in 2018, I stepped away.

Not because I didn't believe in technology, but because I believed in something else more strongly. I left to start Pyarful—a world built around "pyar": love. The kind of love that shows up in handwritten notes, thoughtful gifts, cultural memory, and everyday rituals.

For years, my days were filled with paper and ink, stories and symbols, customers and community. With motherhood layered in, my life slowed in ways tech never allows. And in that slowing, something became clear—love is the only metric worth measuring.

Now, as I find myself revisiting the world of AI, there's a quiet poetry to the timing. AI has grown up in my absence. It can write, see, speak, predict, and create. It's astonishing, truly. Honestly, it all feels very personal. I don't know if it's because I lived and breathed it for so long, or because I played a (small) part in its creation, or simply because I'm a mom and these days anything could trigger my emotions!

But in all seriousness, as a parent there's also something deeply parental about it.

While I was feeding babies, packing school lunches, building Pyarful, creating spaces of belonging and comfort—this other creation was also growing… rapidly, powerfully.

And motherhood sharpens the question AI keeps bumping into: What are we teaching the next generation to value? Are we building minds without hearts? Are we optimizing away the very things that make life feel meaningful?

That's when it clicked. That's why my story is coming full circle—and why our experiences are never separate chapters. They're all layers. And together they form a perspective that couldn't exist any earlier than now.

What if AI led with love?

What if care, inclusion, authenticity, cultural context, and emotional intelligence were the foundations?

Pyarful was never just a brand. It was a deeply rooted belief that representation matters. That small moments of joy can anchor us in times of change. And perhaps that's exactly what this next era of tech needs—not less intelligence, but more heart.

AI can help us move faster and better. Pyar reminds us why we're moving at all.

And now, returning with that perspective, I see the symbiosis of the two.
